The Euro was first introduced in 1998, and it is the official currency for countries that are members of the Eurozone.
These countries include Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Portugal, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Vatican City.
The Euro is also used in several countries outside the Eurozone such as the Canary Islands, French Guiana and the Azores.
The Euro is currently the second most traded currency in the FX market.
