QPR traineeship scheme update

We are six weeks into the Queens Park Rangers traineeship programme and we are delighted to see the progress the students have made during their time here. Unemployment is an issue that is faced all around the UK and it cannot be tackled by anyone alone. That’s why we aim to extend the collaboration beyond our cutting-edge foreign exchange services by making a positive change in the community.

Early on this year, Currency UK joined the QPR Trust Traineeship programme, as proud partners of Queens Park Rangers Trust. The programme started with the vision to provide young adults aged 16-24 who are not in education, employment and training with the relevant working skills they would need for the competitive job market.

Working closely with the students, we have been able to give insight into the most important factors that need to be considered in the workplace and the work involved in the foreign exchange industry.

Over the course of the programme we have focused on helping students with:

  • 12 weeks of work experience and a student-centred learning programme

  • The opportunity to work in different departments

  • Development workshops to bring out students’ potential

  • Increase students self-confidence

  • A greater understanding of work-life experiences

  • Professional networking opportunities

  • Mentor support and career guidance

  • Developing technical skills as well as relevant qualifications

One of our students said ‘Being at Currency [UK] has really made a difference from when we first started the work placement’. ‘I would like to say a massive thank you to them for helping us out’.

Currency UK is committed to inspiring people to get into a job they love.
