Strong Start for Sterling in 2022

Happy New Year!

GBPUSD starts 2022 on the front foot and near two-month highs. The pound ended the year strongly and opened this morning just below 1.35 against the dollar and around the 1.1950 level against the euro.

The euro also starts the year in a strong place against the dollar, near 6-week highs. This could change however over the coming week as we see US and European economic data releases over the next few days. EURUSD opens this morning around the 1.13 mark.
